ALPINE TREE FARM

 

Christmas trees and seasonal greenery. Choose and cut Christmas tree farm open the Friday after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve from daylight to dark. White pine, scotch pine, Norway spruce and Colorado blue spruce trees available.

See and pet various rescued animals that are part of a Petting Zoo at Heavenly Heart Farm & Mini Petting Zoo.   Please note:  NO public bathroom/restroom and limited parking so please carpool when possible.    $5 per person and per child, all children under 18 must be with paying adult.  NO dogs or other animals allowed.   We also always accept donations for the Rescued Animals.

J & L Green Farm offers a variety of farm tours. Their free tour is an intensive 2 hour hay wagon ride. Perfect for families. Their “Watch it grow and eat is slow” tour is a 2 hour tour where you learn how food is grown and then you eat it; a true farm-to-fork experience. There is a fee for this tour. This twenty acre farm located along the Shenandoah River. To the East of the Farm you can view Edinburg Gap while to the South you can see down the Valley to Rockingham Co. Lost Bottoms was named from the 10 plus acres located in a secluded river bottom. Growing seasaonal sunflowers. Sunflowers for photo opt and for fresh cut flowers. 1st time growing, no cost however donations are welcome to continue to make this into a yearly and larger event.

MOUNTAIN VIEW FARM

Cut your own Christmas trees and seasonal greenery

 

Located in scenic Shenandoah County, Virginia and, as the name suggests, affords exceptional panoramic views of the mountains. Choose from 6 different species of biodegradable trees. Enviromentally friendly, no fertilizer, no general pesticide spraying, colorant not used on trees; All trees are from nursery-grown seedlings, no tilling of tree fields, preventing soil erosion.

This Virginia Century Farm has morphed from a cattle farm to a farm brewery, pick your own berry farm, retail store and commercial kitchen specializing in jams, smoked sausages and wood-fired pizzas. All food items can be enjoyed at the brewery or purchased to go.  The brewery typically offers 6-8 small batch, craft beers on tap, including some featuring the farm’s own hops and berries. Swover Creek also offers an outdoor beer garden, fences in dog park, disc golf and is very kid-friendly. Open year round, but hours change seasonally, so check the website or Facebook page in advance for current hours.

Bring your family and friends! Pick your own pumpkins in our huge pumpkin patch. Take a horse-drawn wagon ride and enjoy our beautiful settingat the base of the mountains. Fridays and Saturdays in the Fall. (Call ahead to schedule a horse drawn wagon ride)
