With most offering expanded outdoor seating, Shenandoah County’s 8 wineries, 4 breweries, 1 cidery and distillery offer the perfect opportunity to take a break and unwind. Grab a table, bring a lawn chair or lay a blanket on the lawn at one of the vineyards as you take in some live music or toast a pint and enjoy a locally-sourced meal at one of the local breweries. No matter your beverage of choice, we’ve got you covered.
Taste the County’s rich agricultural heritage at one of the many local farm stands and markets offering the freshest produce, meats, dairy and more. Many even offer locally made goods such as soaps, baskets, jams and baked goods. These markets offer the perfect opportunity to avoid the crowds of the grocery stores while stocking the fridge at your vacation rental or hotel.


Many local restaurants have expanded their outdoor seating to allow for greater social distancing among patrons and several have heaters on hand for cooler evenings. Call ahead for pick up and carry out as well.
Explore the many unique and locally-owned shops along Main Street in each of the County’s historic towns dotting Route 11 like a string of pearls. Masks are required indoors if you are unvaccinated but many shops are also accepting online and telephone orders for curbside or in-store pick up to minimize your interaction with others. Locally made treasures, fine arts, antiques, home goods, jewelry, fine wines and local food products are just a few of the products you’ll discover at these local stores.
