Outdoor Lover's Paradise

DAY 1

When it comes to being outdoors, nothing compares to the Shenandoah County experience! Begin your journey, settling in to Shenandoah Valley Campground, where you can choose to drive in your RV, bunk in a cabin, or pitch a tent. The updated campground offers amenities for a  comfortable stay, including a snack bar, camp store, bath house, laundry facility, dish washing station, playground, and it is pet friendly! Bring anyone and everyone, right down to your furry family members. Cool down from unpacking and setting up by taking a dive in the pool before heading into town to enjoy a meal at the Woodstock Cafe.  Featuring a variety of unique sandwiches, salads, wraps and pastries, The Woodstock Cafe is sure to please everyone’s taste buds. After fueling up on some great food, take to the river for a paddling adventure.  A great float is from Deer Rapids to the Strasburg Town Park or paddle from the Meems Bottom Covered Bridge to Red Banks Road.  What better way to refresh after a great float down the river than a cold pint at the Woodstock Brewhouse.   “The Brewhouse” as locals refer to it offers a wide selection of their own hand crafted beers and refeul on fish tacos, burgers, fried plantains and other fare in this renovated denim factory turned craft brewery.

DAY 2

Wake up to the birds chirping, and the beautiful sunrise over the mountain top. What better way to begin your day than stopping into Kathy’s Home Cooking Café in New Market. Let Kathy’s take you down memory lane of childhood summers with homemade breakfast first thing in the morning. If you’re up for some excitement, grab a mountain bike, and head up the mountain on the chair lift at Bryce Resort. Pedal 30 miles per hour over bridges, rocks, dirt down and through the mountains of Virginia. After the heart-racing experiences, dance into the night with the weekend’s live entertainment featured at Bryce’s Copper Kettle Bar & Lounge. If you’re into the more reserved and quiet setting, the resort offers the same menu in the restaurant portion as well or check out one of the area’s many vineyards such as Third Hill WineryCave Ridge Vineyard or Winery at Kindred Pointe.  Finish up the night by sitting around the community fire pit or your own fire back at the campground, as you rehearse the experiences and stories from the exciting day.
