Prohibition in Virginia, Distilled tells the story of Prohibition in Virginia. Utilizing items from the Library of Virginia’s Collection it examines the prohibition movement as part of the social reform effort, outlines the costs of Prohibition, the rise of illegal alcohol production, the creation of an underground culture, and the legacy of prohibition including the creation of the Virginia Alcohol Control Board and NASCAR. This exhibit was created by the Library of Virginia with support from the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association. It will be on display at the Shenandoah County Library from August 5th until September 14 2019.
